As you may know, by now, our TV network is dedicated to telling the world what Jesus Christ is doing in business. And I am sitting with a man by the name of Barry Meguiar who fits that bill Barry is what Jesus has been doing in business he tells me for over 60 years. And prayed. And when we started the business, I have a book on systematic theology on my desk at home it's his book. And it's written on almost every page. So I both sides, my family and mother's parents are both pastors. And so both both of my grandfather and my grandmother will pass so for generations back of all sides of my family, so I really have no excuse. I've been trained well into, you know, much has given and so I've been obligated and

So I know about you. I don't know that much about things. But you were challenged for a while in your business, though to be even bolder, right?

Well, you know, it was instinct story. I wouldn't we were going back to like 69, 1969, 1970 right now is actually search for God. We we've been trained well, and we were giving and sacrificially doing everything we could the two little girls at home, we had no joy, who we recognizers as missing. So we started praying for joys of God, there's this missing element we're doing or the other we should be having more fun doing it having joy. And so we went to about two weeks later, we went to a luncheon. And the speaker is Herb Ellingwood, who was the legal affairs secretary for Governor Reagan.

Okay. The year was 1973. And I sat next to him and for an hour he was tearing tell me how much fun he was having sharing your his faith. I'd never seen by so joyful. I've been many times since then, as far as I remember seeing anybody with that kind of joy. And I walked away saying I want I want what Herb Ellingwood has I want that. Yeah. And so Karen, I started sharing our faith on our more intentional basis, and he wasn't already two or three weeks later, and we were laughing one day, we said wait a minute. We have joy. It actually works. And it was after that, that we discovered John 15:11 That last parable for the fig tree, you know? And he says when you bear fruit Ah, they're in your way disciple. Yeah. And my Jermaine, with you and your Germain fool. So the we're all in at that point is going for it. And it's just it is quite a ride ever since.

And they need somebody to just say show me how So how do you how did you make it practical? How did it fit in the day to day business for that business owner that is kinda wants to but just doesn't know how

Okay. So, three years later 1976 I was I was deciding that I God wanted me to go into full time ministry because I would have had so much fun you show I had some fun sharing my faith. Okay. Now recitation but just calling the Holy Spirit to speak through me and give me words to say so I decided God if you want me go into full time ministry I will leave it's 100 year old family business a big decision for me right but said if I know for sure so you almost have to speak to me with an audible voice or hey, you got 20 minutes later guy walked by his name was David Nutt. He went to my same church but we never exchanged the glance no contact I did know that he was a missionary kid visa spoken for the platform a couple of times a guns walking in and say hi Barry How you doing your soft drives I'd stopped by a car was going so I thought he's probably not in car wax and shiny finishes so I started telling him stories about to share my faith and he said God's given you wonderful ministry here had me and I said whoa wait Why would you ask me that question? He saw a pastor couldn't reach the viewer your reach a bit of a businessman you can give me this line okay it's obvious that your business is your pulpit Whoa, Nettie changed my life all sudden my god my visitors are down my God anymore and they were just kind of overlapping no we have one life yeah. An order we are we're a housewife we're gonna student in school. We're a lawyer I don't care what worry you are. That's that's our pulpit. So every businessman will be talking to you right now. Yeah, leading the business is secondary Amen to honoring God and sheer sharing him as with every opportunity we have and when we do that, does what wonderful scripture Romans 8:20. We all know what we don't fall all the way through right so when he says all things work together through it, where he really means that Yeah, but you got to read the whole verse to those who would love me and then explains what that means to those who live for my purpose.

So when we live every day, knowing we're surrounded by who are lost and loving on them and heavier too, so we say move everybody everyday closer to Jesus. When you live in that zone, everything works for good. Yeah. So all the business challenges the fly side challenges all the credit challenges the you know, the the loss of bills, that they're not going to pay all the bad employees although say I've been thrilled for Fianna years. God takes care of every single one of you. You just You just know I didn't even work. I had a joint venture partners go throw me on my business. He owned a half my business and I found the next word is going to throw me on my business. How do your old family business Yeah, I'm 65 years old. Okay, I've been through stuff. This is not academic for you. This is real life.

Yeah, that's what I want you guys to get here. You're talking to a guy that's lived this right in the trenches. So he's here lately, you gotta meet Jesus first. He knows what he's talking about this how that works.

Went to my attorney's office to take the conference called we're beating kind of thing and within eight minutes within eight minutes God turned my my joint venture partner upside down. Destroy his brand and now I get nothing but cussing over the phone.

God this after this had all these are so mad at me. And I laughing I break out laughing at it. God you're so amazing. I trusted you. I had no hope. Yeah. And you interview this just like biblical stories. He does that he's alive today. What he loves that he does now. Well, Brad, you say you put Him first, but not just put him first but share him first. We live to share our faith. That's why we do that. That is why that's the whole thing is right. It's the Great Commission. In fact in in a great scripture for us. ISAIAH 43:10 Why should we share our faith you Why is it so important? He always tells us we've got to do it got to do it. Okay. Why? it's secondary to in the last in secondary. Isaiah 4310 says, I appointed us by witness so that you will believe so that you will really be as he knows, if we don't share our faith we atrophy most who are not in the world today right now, whilst you're not praying today, they're just sitting there flat footed complaining about everything. Yeah, you know, but if you're sharing your faith, you can't help but you're in there digging in for scriptures you need for Biggums are asking you a question you don't know how to answer. You're praying for all these people. You're in the game. It's every day you're in the game, your advertisement, your lighting, night your light. And so that's where he says, Your faith. He didn't say you're no more he says, You will blue tint so that you will believe and understand and man that I am God that is Oh, that's the whole customer. So for visitors, people with all the challenges coming in as an visitors row today, and they are immense. Yeah, we could face it with no fear. Yeah, I simply just say my job was to share my faith every day.

And I didn't care I still walked away. I just moved the closer to Jesus since I said, You know what, I saw impressed with your business and your lifestyle. What you're doing, I just went on and just praise them. I said, and I want to earn your respect. So I'll come back someday in the meantime, but God bless you. Pray God really bless everything you do. I just knew that closer to Jesus.

Well, you took care of his purpose that he's you for right Yeah. Someone asked you this question and then I want to ask you to pray for our CEOs in that way. Yes. So in your experience, what is the number one fear a CEO is struggling with?

Well, I think no one fears the self doubt they think they're out there at all them and nobody understands them and everybody's against some of the whole rules against you when you're leading a court for agent your words against everybody is against it, and there's so much to fear and so you defeat yourself with your own fear he doesn't paralyze you so you can be paralyzed in fear and the fact the matter is if you stop making your business your god oh my god my business oh my god has been for 60 years I eyes when is the right pulpit now so it gives me opportunity to share my faith it changes everything sounds so simple. Yeah, but actually when you do that, and you love when your board members I don't care if they're coming I don't care who's coming against you. You love them.

And ravage on the biblical truth and applying it to realize it doesn't get any better for them and pray for business. Yes, Father God, we thank you for every business CEO, there's listening to us right now. It's a treacherous place. It's a lonely place. Unless it unless we're living for your purpose, God, it changes everything. And I pray that Lord, whether you read our book or not, but just gets captured, captured his son goes Isaiah 43:10, to realize that's the end of fear. And so absolute faith when we share our faith, faith and sharing our faith are two sides of the same coin. Such a powerful message simple message. I pray that those of us who just right now will grab a hold of this simple truth.
