Leray Heyne  2:09

Hello, Leray Heyne here again with Jesus Christ's CEOs TV. And we are about ready to close off the IRF Summit, International Religious Freedom Summit. And I have a business owner by the name of Jacqueline, who has stepped into the studio here today. And I want to welcome you for taking some time.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  2:27

Thank you so much, it's a pleasure to be with you.

Leray Heyne  2:30

So you are a business owner and a founder, and you cross religious freedoms, tell our audience a little bit about you and your organization, and how that all fits why you're here.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  2:42

Sure. Well, in the first place, I am a Christian. And so the things that excite my heart are things that actually are in accordance with my faith. And so one of the things that our business focuses on, it's a public affairs firm, we do government relations and media relations. And so the types of clients we want to attract are those who are concerned with religious freedom and persecution of Christians, and also those who are generally Christian and have a faith based ideal for we like to say, raising human dignity to a higher level, and that have great respect for human dignity. We are all made in the image and likeness of God. And so the projects that we take on, focus on supporting human dignity and making sure that that is supported for by by any means that we can.

Leray Heyne  3:42

So you were just giving me an example of like one of the clients.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  3:45

Yeah

Leray Heyne  3:45

So share that with

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  3:46

Yeah, sure. So we provide government relations support for Aid to the Church in Need. Aid to the Church in Need is a pontifical organization that supports the persecuted church, specifically, where people are being persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. And, and right now, one of our big focuses is in Nigeria. And so to this conference, and for the next couple of weeks, we have in town a delegation of clergy from Nigeria. And they are basically speaking about what's happening there. They are targeted as Christians for their faith, and they're literally being quite literally being slaughtered. So we are providing government relations services, we lobby Capitol Hill, we provide coalition building to broaden the support of what are of our efforts. And so we work with the type of people that might come to this conference, to build our coalition to be able to be successful on Capitol Hill in passing legislation.

Leray Heyne  4:47

Wow. So I want to kind of balance maybe switch to a little bit different angle because our business that I ran for 18 years was started by my mom. And then I grew the busisness and but she was the cook she was the the inventor and became the chairman of the board. How many people do you have on your team right now?

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  5:08

It from time to time, it varies, but right now we have about four people on our team. Okay. And

Leray Heyne  5:14

But you're doing some amazing work. And it sounds like it's being multiplied a lot. I want you to encourage other women in business. Yeah, would you do that?

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  5:27

Well, I would say my personal feeling is that if you want something done, give it to a woman. And, and they're as competent or more competent than they realize most of the time, most of the time, we still have a little bit of a mindset, like, oh, maybe I'm stepping in the man's world, and they really know what they're doing and so forth. But that is a diminishment of the gifts that God has given you. You know, God's made us. He's given us the gifts that we have to serve Him and to serve Him in a mighty way. And I have found that honestly, even in this town, and with the partners that I work with, they are oftentimes strong women who are trying to get this job done is no excuses given. In fact, the most effective women I know, including my manager of operations, and client relations, are mothers. And they are some of them are stay at home mothers. And they are the most efficient, effective, hardest working sharpest people I know.

Leray Heyne  6:28

Wow.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  6:28

It's so I just think you, you must use the gifts that God's given you for His glory and for his benefit. And you will be most fulfilled in doing so.

Leray Heyne  6:39

I don't disagree with you. I had on all of my leader team leadership team. It was mostly women.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  6:44

Yeah.

Leray Heyne  6:44

And people would ask me why. And I said, They're just better. The people who can execute?

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  6:51

Yeah.

Leray Heyne  6:52

So I'm with you on that. Wow, that is that is awesome. Hyacinth, and I'm gonna put you on the spot. Do you have a question for Jacqueline along that line?

Hyacinth Harley  7:05

So, yes. Why do we not see more diversity? of you know, like, you're saying women are often better. So why are we not seeing more diversity of women in leadership roles, more equality?

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  7:22

Why are we not? I think sometimes we have an old guard that is afraid to put women in those roles, perhaps. And I also think that, you know, sometimes as especially Christian women, we are not as sometimes we're not as forceful, you know, because we want to be respectful. But it's not about not being respectful. It's really about just living up to the gifts that you have. I think that the tide is turning and has turned and there are some who, like you agree with what I'm saying? And think, you know, women need to be placed in these roles, because quite frankly, they're simply just better at it. I mean, better, whatever role, it may be, right? And then we're not talking about giving giving a job to somebody that doesn't deserve it, or who doesn't match the requirements.

Leray Heyne  8:18

No, they wouldn't of worked for me if they didn't.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  8:20

Right. So, yeah, we're just talking about putting people in roles that they really can fulfill and fulfill better. And sometimes women, I have noticed, including myself, aren't as good about speaking big about themselves. We don't really toot our own horns as much. There's even studies about this, like men do it better than women.

Leray Heyne  8:40

That's ok your fruits matter.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  8:42

I think, what in the end, it's what matters. Yeah.

Leray Heyne  8:46

So as your last question, and then if you're comfortable, would you pray for women? Because yeah, okay. So my next question, because you mentioned Washington, and this is a this is a tough city.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  8:57

Yes, it is.

Leray Heyne  8:58

Whether for anybody to work here. But if you learned on how to navigate just the toughness of advancing your company, in an area that might not want to receive you as much.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  9:15

That's such a good question. I feel like I encounter that here and there a lot. What would I say to that question, and

Leray Heyne  9:23

Then what have you learned?

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  9:24

What have I learned?

Leray Heyne  9:25

What do you do?

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  9:26

What have I learned? Yes, well, I, I kind of go through the mental exercise of remembering who I am. And remembering who I am in Christ. And that, you know, if if I can compete with my own on the merits of my work, and if our company is as good as there's on the merits of what we can produce, then I just simply go matter of fact, you know about it and just say, well, listen, we're equal on this, but actually see, we're not just equal, we're much better we far exceed what this other company is able to do.

Leray Heyne  10:04

Amen.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  10:05

And I'm just gonna yeah, I'm just gonna tell you straight out that's it's just the fact I'm not boasting. I'm just like, this is actually humble. It's actually humility in who you are. Yeah. Right and, and also what we can do because of Grace, God makes us look good. He gives us gifts, and we are supposed to employ them. And so, you know, that's, that's basically what I have learned from it is simply that you cannot cower in a corner and be afraid to speak about what you know what you're good about, you know?

Leray Heyne  10:34

Yeah. Well, you I think you just spoke that word right into a lot of women who are on this border line, or who are struggling, should I keep the doors open? Should I keep going after this or not? So I think you probably have just encouraged a lot.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  10:48

I hope so.

Leray Heyne  10:49

And if you would pray for women, business owners, and just just in part of blessing and in anything else God puts on your heart.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  10:57

Okay.

Leray Heyne  10:58

Yeah.

Jacqueline Halbig von Schleppenbach  10:59

Thank you. Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus. We are so grateful for all the women that you have made, born and unborn. And we are so grateful for the gifts that you've given all of us gifts to shine your glory to the world, we are made in your image and likeness. And you've given us each a special calling, and one that you do not want to be sheltered under a bushel, but one that you want to shine brightly, not because of us, or glory to us, but glory to you. And I ask Lord that you would imbue with a sense of confidence, each woman that listens to this prayer in this segment, and ask Lord that you would give them the confidence in their calling. And those who are still kind of searching for their calling are uncertain. I pray that you would give them certainty. Give them clarity, give them what they need to be able to serve you with all of their heart and all of their might. And let them not be intimidated by attitudes or different things that come their way that want to diminish their gifts. Let them shine their gifts for you out out there in the open for the world to see because that is the way that you will be most glorified and all around them will be most blessed. I just asked all of these things in Jesus precious name, amen.

Leray Heyne  12:27

Amen. Amen. Amen.
